NEWS RELEASE
Alabama Alliance Against Abortion
January 22nd, 2011
On this 39th anniversary of the infamous ROE versus Wade decision we respectfully call on the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House, the Attorney General
and all members of the Alabama State Legislature, House and Senate to enact the following laws to promote the sanctity of life for unborn children:
1. Enforce the current law prohibiting all abortions.
2. Enact new, separate individual laws that include the following:
A. Confirm all Constitutional rights for all unborn children. Human life begins at conception
B. Only board certified OB/GYN physicians with local hospital admitting privileges may perform abortions
C. No publicly funded hospitals may perform any abortions
D. All abortion facilities, must as a minimum meet the licensing standards for Ambulatory Surgical Clinics
E. No abortion for a minor may be performed without the approval of both parents
F. Require semi-annual inspections of all abortion clinics
G. Add 12 new members to the State Health Advisory Board to include six members of the clergy and six private citizens from across the state: require monthly meetings of the board.
H. Personhood Amendment: The Personhood Amendment provides constitutional rights for individuals at
the beginning of biological development, at conception.
We call on all people of good will to support these provisions and to call on their elected officials to enact these reasonable restrictions. Alabama has six abortion clinics, Mississippi has only one….Its time we do something about it.
